Stre-e-e-tch!

28 10 2007

As some of you may know, Hugo is a great sleeper, often going as much as seven hours at a time at night and has recently begun taking naps during the day (a previously unseen phenomenon). To what do I ascribe this somnolent success? There are a few factors, but one of the most obvious is the swaddle. Yes, like the newborn Christ, Hugo enjoys his swaddling clothes. Oh he struggles when we bundle him up, but soon he relaxes (though we do hear the occasional grunt and whinge in the night) and he’s soon off to sleep. Here you see our little man emerging from a restful night of sleep, finally able to stretch those limbs that had been held so securely through the night…

Hugo, Now with Laughter

21 10 2007

Yes, he laughs, sometimes like a lunatic and for no apparent reason. In this instance it’s because somebody (not Sacha) is attempting to get him to do his patented coyote howl. He really will imitate the howl, but this time he’s content to smile and laugh.

Note please his ultrastylish FC Barcelona bib.

Oh Baby, Give Me One More Chance

13 10 2007

This video is actually a couple of weeks old but I had trouble with Google Video. Regardless, here you see Hugo on his play mat, struggling mightily to keep up with the Jackson 5. He’s quite the social guy these days, most happy when interacting with us — smiling and imitating sounds (the next video).

Pescadero

3 10 2007

Remember when I wrote that Hugo wasn’t enjoying his fleece pouch anymore? Well, that is no longer the case. In fact, sometimes it’s his only solace. Here he is with his Aunt Sarah at the lovely Pecadero State Beach.

I don’t want to give you the wrong impression, though. Hugo has been a delight lately. Laughing and gurgling and flapping his little wings, er arms. I tried to post video evidence of this but Google Video is still acting up.
